While Labor Day may be the unofficial start of the fall season, it doesn't truly feel like fall until caramel apples, cider, pumpkins, and mums start showing up at local markets. By the time August comes to a close, the apple trees in Missouri are heavy with fruit. Fall is just around the corner and one charming cider mill is just getting ready to open for another season. Dunn's Cider Mill in Belton has been pressing apples for cider for over 40 years. Their cider is one of the truest tastes of fall and you certainly can't pass on freshly made apple cider donuts. Find out why this charming cider mill has Missourians longing for fall all year long.
Dunn's will open for their 44th season in just a few short weeks.
Jon and Jane Dunn, and occasionally their granddaughter, run Dunn's Cider Mill. Mr. Dunn has been pressing apples for their amazing cider himself for over 40 years.
Did you know it takes over 40 apples to make one gallon of cider? Mr. Dunn really works hard to make some of the best cider in the state!
Cider donuts are a must when you come to Dunn's. For a winning combination, try the cinnamon and sugar cider donut with a cider slush.
The Dunn's truly love what they do and it shows in the way they treat their customers. In the past, they have set out self serve cider after the mill had closed for the season.
Dunn's Cider Mill hasn't announced their official opening date but they typically start selling donuts in the first weeks of September and then start pressing cider shortly after.
If you have never been to Dunn's, they should be the first stop on your fall itinerary once they open.
