There’s only one way to survive summer in Mississippi – a great swim spot. If you have yet to find such a spot, never fear: we found seven! So, when the summer temps become just too much to bear, cool off with a visit to one of the following glorious Mississippi swimming holes:
1. Silver Run Swim Hole (Poplarville)

2. Merit Water Park (Mendenhall)
Located on Rials Creek, this 25-acre park boasts a small waterfall and an old-fashioned swimming hole. The perks don’t end there, though. 3. Dunn’s Falls Park (Enterprise)
Where better to splash around than underneath the state’s tallest waterfall? The shallow pool below Dunn’s Falls is not only scenic, but it’s crystal-clear, too. One of the best swimming holes in Mississippi.
4. D’Lo Water Park (Mendenhall)
Living up to its reputation as "Mississippi’s best-kept secret," this secluded park is nestled on the Strong River. The river’s calm, cool, pristine waters are perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot summer's day. We love this Mississippi swimming hole!
5. Clear Springs Campground (Roxie)
If it’s a secluded swim you’re seeking, you can’t go wrong with a visit to Clear Springs Campground. Centered around a spring-fed, 12-acre lake, it’s like a little slice of paradise. This is a classic Mississippi swimming hole.
6. Bogue Chitto Water Park (McComb)
This 230-acre park boasts lots of perks, including easy access to the Bogue Chitto River. The river’s clear, slow-moving waters make it a popular place to cool off. It’s also a top spot for canoeing and tubing, and while the park doesn’t rent canoes or tubes, there are outfitters nearby. 7. Clark Creek Natural Area (Woodville)
Shallow swimming holes and waterfalls of varying heights are scattered throughout the Clark Creek Natural Area. It's one of the best swimming holes in Mississippi and you can learn more about it on the Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, & Parks website.
