One of the country’s most recognizable landmarks, the Grand Canyon is truly a site to see; however, traveling all the way to Arizona may not be in everybody’s budget. But what if I told you that you can see the Grand Canyon without ever leaving Mississippi? Well, maybe not the Grand Canyon but a grand canyon; Mississippi’s Little Grand Canyon to be exact.
Officially named Red Bluff, Mississippi’s Little Grand Canyon is located near Foxworth.
Standing at approximately 400 feet above sea level, Red Bluff consists of exposed red clay, soil, sand, and other sediments.
The geologic formation has been created by the natural erosion of the nearby Pearl River.
And unlike its famous counterpart, Red Bluff is constantly getting bigger due to erosion.
No matter how it was formed, one thing’s for sure – Red Bluff provides some spectacular views.
Especially at sunrise.
And could you imagine waking up to a view like this?
