It may not officially be summer yet, but the temperature in Mississippi says otherwise. The unbearable heat is definitely here, which means finding the perfect spot to cool off is a must. 1. Front Beach, Ocean Springs
Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, this popular beach features volleyball nets, bon fire stations, and fishing piers.
2. Beaches at the Ross Barnett Reservoir, Ridgeland
The 105 mile shoreline of the Ross Barnett Reservoir features several man-made beaches, perfect for cooling off on a hot day.
3. Pass Christian Beach
In 2015, the first annual Coastal Running Fest was held. The marathon is scheduled to be held again in December, and it will all begin at this beautiful beach.

4. Gulfport Beach
Part of the largest man-made beach in the world, this is a popular spot during the summer months, especially if you’re looking for some fun in the sun. On-site vendors offer everything from jet-ski rentals to parasailing.

Located in one of the largest cities in the state, the Biloxi Beach is practically surrounded by world-class casinos and great dining, which means extending your beach trip to an overnight stay is probably a good idea.

The man-made Grenada Lake holds about 35,820 acres of water and has just under 150 miles of shoreline, which means there are plenty of sandbars for relaxing in the sun.
