When it comes to waterfalls, there can never be too many. Luckily, we’ve got a trail right here in the Magnolia State that’s full of waterfalls – five to be exact. They may not be huge, but what the falls lack in size, they definitely make up for in beauty. So, the next time you find yourself wondering, "Are there any waterfalls near me in Mississippi," simply check out this trail, and you'll find the answer. (Spoiler alert: the answer is yes!)
Clark Creek Natural Area has been dubbed "one of the Magnolia State's most beautiful outdoor treasures" – and it definitely doesn’t disappoint.
In addition to dozens of waterfalls, the 700-acre area includes other sites uncommon in Mississippi, such as huge rock formations and rare trees, like the Southern sugar maple.
Many of the waterfalls are seasonal and depend on rainfall. But there are several falls that can be found year-round – most of which are on the park’s improved trail.
At 1.78 miles, the improved trail is short and sweet – and easily doable by hikers of just about any age.
Easily one of the best hikes in Mississippi, the trail is lined with stunning sights and scenery, including waterfalls, of course.
Sure to impress, the waterfalls range in height from 10 feet to more than 30 feet.
In addition to size, the waterfalls vary in shape - some are nearly completely covered, making for a totally unique experience.
Several of the falls include a pool below, providing the perfect place to cool off during your hike.
The water from the falls isn't only refreshing, but practically crystal clear!
