Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary is part of Theodore Wirth Regional Park.
Within the park is a 3/4-mile trail that that leads through tall grasses, trees, and many other plants.
In fact, the park houses more than 500 plant species and 130 bird species.
Visitors love walking along this wildflower trail to see some of Minnesota's greatest beauties. The rare showy lady's slipper - Minnesota's state flower - is a popular sight.
There's something beautiful to see in nearly every season along the trail. In spring months, trees begin to blossom. Bluebells and and trout lilles begin to appear.
As well as lady's slippers, summer also brings favorites like cup plants and sunflowers.
And in the fall, the park is ablaze with color, all visible from the wildflower trail.
In every season, the garden is teeming with animal life. Butterflies and birds swoop among the flowers, and frogs hop through the grass.
