Every year, millions of flowers bloom all over Minnesota. It's one of the best - and most colorful - things to look forward to as we weather the winter. There are many places to see flowers, from sunflower fields to peony gardens to your own yard. But what about wildflowers? These blooms are a bit more elusive, but they're still easy to find in state parks, open fields, and at one gorgeous park in Minneapolis. The Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden is a go-to spot for people who love to browse colorful blooms. There's a one-way trail through the garden that is a must for anyone who loves wildflowers. Read on below to learn more about the Wildflower Loop:
The Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary is a beautiful garden in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This 15-acre stretch of land is a natural oasis right in the middle of the city.
The Wildflower Loop Trail will help you see the park's beauty up close. The trail covers 3/4 of a mile and is made up of boardwalk, dirt, and mulch.
As you walk, you'll pass under a canopy of trees. This is the perfect shady walk on a warm day.
You'll have the opportunity to get some sunshine, too. The trees part at times to reveal grassy clearings under the sunny sky.
Of course, you'll also encounter many wildflowers. There are around 500 plant species at the park, many of them being wildflowers.
Every season brings new blooms, with the first emerging in the spring and the last blooming in the fall.
You'll find many common blooms...
...and some that are a bit more unusual. No matter when you go, you're bound to see something interesting.
If you're looking for a great way to get outside and see some beautiful Minnesota nature, plan a trip to the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary. Not only will you see flowers, but you'll see butterflies, birds, and other critters!
