It can sometimes feel difficult to leave the busyness of a large city. There's always an event, traffic, or some other factor that pulls you from your peace and forces you to take notice. That's why it's so important to have places in the city that can act as an oasis from the constant hustle-and-bustle activity. In the Twin Cities, there are a few places that offer just the peace you're looking for. One of our favorites is a large park in St. Paul that offers plenty of quiet and tranquility. Take a look:
Battle Creek Regional Park is a beautiful, 1,840-acre space in St. Paul and Maplewood, Minnesota. Address: 83 B Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106.
It's the perfect oasis from the busyness of city life. You can even see views of St. Paul from the park, the perfect reminder of how near you are to nature even if you live in the city.
Several miles of trails throughout the park bring you up close with nature.
There are special trails for mountain biking, as well as 3 miles of multi-use trails. Along the way, there are even opportunities to see wildlife such as deer, foxes, and birds.
You also have the chance to see some Minnesota wildflowers that grow freely in the park's grassy fields.
Battle Creek is historical, too. It was named for a tribal battle that occurred in 1842. Today, it is much more peaceful.
The sigh and sound of trickling creek water is the perfect scene to help you clear your head.
