No matter which part of Minnesota you’re from, you probably know about Como Zoo and the Minnesota Zoo. You’ve likely even visited these zoos yourself. But there are other, lesser-known zoos to check out as well! One in particular that we think is worth exploring happens to be a park as well as a zoo. When you visit Oxbow Park & Zollman Zoo in Rochester, Minnesota, you’ll find plenty of interesting activities and animals. We highly recommend planning a visit to this fun spot!
Oxbow Park & Zollman Zoo is a lovely attraction in Rochester, Minnesota. This city makes for a great place to visit for interesting activities, restaurants, and shopping. If you're ever in the area, we highly recommend a visit to this park!
The park has something to offer for just about everyone. Lovely trails lead through a wooded landscape dotted with wildflowers. There are almost 10 miles of trails to explore!
Views of the beautiful Zumbro River are also present in the park. If you're a nature lover, you'll enjoy your visit here. The grassy land near the river makes for a perfect place to rest and relax!
The park is also a great place to spend the night. There are 29 campsites available, with bathrooms and showers available nearby. There are also playgrounds and a picnic area for making the most of your stay.
Other than the trails and campsites, the park is also home to Zollman Zoo. This zoo houses more than 30 native Minnesota animals.
Many of the animals were rescued from injury and are no longer able to survive in the wild. Instead, they thrive here! You'll find eagles, badgers, deer, and plenty of other common and not-so-common animals.
