It's springtime in Minnesota, and that means flowers are in bloom. As you drive through the countryside, you're bound to see fields full of colorful wildflowers. You can even visit flower farms. But if you don't feel like going on a search for blooms, there's a much easier way to find wildflowers in Minnesota. All you have to do is take a walk down the breathtaking wildflower trail at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden in Minneapolis.
Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden is a 15-acre garden in the middle of Minneapolis. Address: 1 Theodore Wirth Parkway, Minneapolis, MN, 55405
The garden is also a bird sanctuary. Around 130 species of birds live in and visit this beautiful garden.
There is plenty of other wildlife, too! Look closely for turtles, frogs, squirrels, and more.
The park has a 3/4-mile trail through a lovely canopy of trees.
It emerges into beautiful, grassy fields reminiscent of southwestern Minnesota's prairies.
As you pass among the grasses, you'll likely find several varieties of butterflies fluttering around.
They, and other insects, land among the plants. This garden is home to around 500 different plant species, many of which are wildflowers.
Warm weather brings many of the flowers into bloom. The whimsical blooms of this yellow cup plant, similar to daisies, are cheery and beautiful.
Clover flowers, prominent throughout the garden, are native to Minnesota.
Many other flower species are on display at the garden. Depending on the season, you can see bluebells, monkeyflowers, phlox, and much more.
Have you ever visited this beautiful garden? The easy 3/4-mile wildflower trail is perfect for exploring on a sunny day.
