We may be well-known for our snowy winters here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but come summertime, Minnesota sure can heat up fast. Of course, we always look forward to the summer sun after our long and treacherous winters, but sometimes it can be difficult to deal with the heat and humidity. But it doesn't have to be. Thanks to our many lakes, rivers, and swimming holes, it's quite easy to cool down on a sticky Minnesota summer day. One of the very best ways to cool off is enjoying a day of Otter Tail River tubing. There are many tubing rivers in Minnesota to pick from, but why not go with the longest? You'll cool off, enjoy the outdoors, and get the most bang for your buck on the longest float trip in Minnesota with K & K Tubing in Detroit Lakes. Check it out!

K & K Tubing is a popular tubing spot in the Detroit Lakes area. This float trip will take you down the mighty Otter Tail River.

The tubing company offers visitors a chance to go floating down this west-central Minnesota river at a leisurely pace under the summer sun.

Depending on the river levels, the trip typically takes about two or three hours. Best of all, you can take a second ride in the same day for free.

Getting four to six hours on the river for the cost of one ride sounds pretty fantastic to us.

K & K offers visitors such a great value. There's a shuttle service that will drop you off and pick you up again right at the river, so you don't have to worry about arranging transportation for your float trip.

There are plenty of tubes available for rent. They're complete with handles and a cup holder, so you've got everything you need for a comfortable, cooling day of river floating.

Note that glass bottles and styrofoam coolers are not allowed on the river, so make sure to not bring any.

You'll even find kid-sized tubes for the younger visitors. They're equipped with a backrest and ensure that smaller visitors stay safe and comfortable.

There are also cloth tubes available for dogs if you have a water-loving pooch that's ready for adventure!

If you want to really make a day of it, you can get an extra tube just for your cooler and tie it to yours. You're free to bring as many beverages as you like, as long as they're not in glass containers.

It'll allow you to get some sun, enjoy the outdoors, and cool off in the refreshing waters of one of Minnesota's beautiful rivers. It is located in Welch, Minnesota, which is about 50 miles south of the Twin Cities. This makes it an excellent day trip destination for many Minnesotans.

You can rent a tube for yourself and another for your cooler. There's a shuttle bus that will drop you off at the river's entry point.

After your trip is done, the same shuttle will pick you up at Welch Landing.

There are signs on the river, so you won't miss it. All you have to do is enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, and refreshing water along this outdoor paradise.

Speaking of water, the Cannon River is one of the prettiest nature areas in southern Minnesota.

It flows 112 miles through the rolling hills, thick forests, and grassy fields of Minnesota. You'll be able to see a little bit of everything on your journey.

Depending on the water level, rides typically last a couple of hours.

Tubes are nominally priced to rent on weekends. You can bring a cooler with drinks, but no glass or styrofoam is allowed on the river. But that still leaves you a few great options for a refreshing beverage.

If you'd rather do some paddling, canoe and kayaks are available starting at a pretty low place per rental.
