It's mid-summer, so it's the perfect time of year to hop on a Michigan lake and go fishing. We've spotted some great places where you can fish for some of the state's most well-known fish - paying particular attention to walleye and bass.
10) Belleville Lake
If you're looking for a well-stocked walleye lake in southern Michigan, this may just be the spot for you.
9) Lake Kitch Iti Kipi
The rocks that cover the floor of his lake make walleye spawning particularly ideal and the fish can be found just about anywhere in the water.
8) Burt Lake
As Michigan's fourth-largest lake, it's fertile waters are perfect for walleye.
7) Coldwater Lake
This lake is dependent on regular stocking of walleye, but the population is replenished regularly, so there's plenty of catching opportunity.
6) Long Lake
Long Lake, too, is good for naturally-reproduced fish... So much better that way.
5) Hubbard Lake
Insiders say Hubbard Lake is one of the best inland lakes around for fishing. That's because the fish population is naturally populated through reproduction.
4) Lake St Clair
One of Michigan's largest lakes, it's always popular among Metro Detroiters and Canadians alike, especially for bass fishing.
3) Lake Leelanau
Another lake blessed with natural reproduction of walleye, as opposed to DNR stocking.
2) Saginaw Bay
This spot might be overlooked, but that might work in your favor if you're a fan of bass fishing.
1) Union Lake
Go here for slab bluegills, smallmouths, and walleye - tons of walleye, thanks to a combination of stocking and natural reproduction.
