Nothing says summertime like digging into delicious, freshly picked fruit from a local farm. Here in the Great Lakes State, we’re lucky to live among all sorts of fantastic produce options - including plenty of pick-your-own fruit farms that offer fun for the whole family. If you’re craving mouth-watering blueberries, add this charming spot in Michigan to your summertime must-visit list.
Adams Blueberry Farms can be found at 69676 Co Rd 376 in Hartford.
This gem is a popular spot among locals in the South Haven area, offering tasty blueberries and maple syrup to community members and out-of-town visitors alike.
If you love fresh fruit, mark your calendars for early July, as this is typically when Adams Farms begins offering blueberries. Berries are available via u-pick and pre-pick.
Snag a five, ten, or 30-pound box of berries if you’re in a hurry. To extend the fun, grab a bucket (or bring your own container) and pick to your heart’s content.
The farm itself will charm you, having remained in the same family for more than 150 years. There’s even a play area for the kids to enjoy after an adventure among the berries.
If that weren’t enough, the farm also sells maple syrup to the public throughout the year. Nothing sweetens up breakfast or baked goods like a drizzle of syrup from a local gem.
When you’re seeking fresh fare, it’s hard to find a better option. During July and August, the farm typically remains open 7 days per week from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
While it might not be the state’s most famous u-pick destination, Adams Blueberry Farms certainly belongs on your Michigan bucket list. You’re in for a sweet excursion.
