Warm weather in Michigan signals the arrival of beach season for many, especially those who live near the shores of our beloved Great Lakes. When sunshine peeks out and temperatures rise, there’s nothing better than rounding up the family and spending time along the waterfront. One peaceful and underrated beach here in Michigan offers fun for everyone, including your four-legged friends.
Norman F. Kruse Park is located at 3205 W Sherman Blvd in Muskegon.
While it’s often overlooked in favor of more popular public beaches in the area, there’s so much to love at this pretty park. You might just feel like you’ve discovered a well-kept secret.
Kruse Park sits along the shores of Lake Michigan and offers some of the prettiest horizon views imaginable. Sweeping duneland and soft sand abound in every direction.
Upon parking, take time to appreciate the lakefront vistas before you. Whether you drop by in the morning, the middle of the afternoon, or right before sunset, you’ll surely be impressed.
The park’s upper area is a prime spot for picnicking and spending time with family members before making your way to the shoreline. The downward trek to the waterfront is so worth it.
In addition to plenty of space for humans to appreciate the water, Kruse Park features a dog beach on its northern end that allows canine family members to frolic without their leashes.
Throw a frisbee, watch as your pup splashes in the water, or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll along the shore with man’s best friend at your side. It’s easy to make lasting memories here.
Whether you’re visiting for a dose of beachfront beauty or searching for the perfect place to help your dog run off some energy, Kruse Park in Muskegon will quickly become a new favorite.
