You have to be honest, there are some places in Michigan that look out of this world. At times, they may seem mundane. But at others, depending on how the light its them, or the time of year, they seem to come from some far-flung planet, completely removed of Earth. Here are some images of places that have just that otherworldly feel.
12) Bay City
This light show must be a Martian sunset.
11) Guardian Building, Detroit
Is this an ancient alien palace, or what?
10) Glow ice formation, possibly Detroit
We're not sure the location of this; we're assuming it's in some far off galaxy.
9) Grand Haven
Surely, this sunset can't be of this Earth.
8) Turnip Rock
Oh, I remember this place from Planet of the Apes.
7) Grand Rapids
Have you ever seen moss grow on a wall like this on Earth? Certainly not (pictured here, a floral installation at ArtPrize).
6) North American International Auto Show, Detroit
Must be an intergalactic vessel. Pictured here, a Lexus LF-LC Concept Car from the 2012 auto show.
5) Lightning
I know we have some powerful thunderstorms in Michigan, but this...
4) Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
The intricate colors on the rocks here couldn't possibly be of this world.
3) Packard Plant, Detroit
We can't help but feel like this belongs in a zombie apocalypse.
2) St Joseph Lighthouse
This has got to be an otherworldly ice age.
1) Golden sunset
Looks like the faint sun shining on a far-flung planet.
You gotta appreciate just how breathtaking our state really is. Tell us though, where are some places in Michigan that have you swearing you're on another planet?
