Welcome to Mount Greylock State Reservation! This 12,000 acre forest preserve is home to dozens of scenic hikes, but Stony Ledge Trail might have the best views in the whole state.
Stony Ledge is actually a lookout point with a trail that shares the same name. There are various different connecting trails, so you can choose how long you want to hike.
The official Stony Ledge Trail is just over 4 miles long and is a loop hike. This mountain hike is a bit difficult, so you'll want to make sure to wear the proper hiking gear according to the season.
When you reach Stony Ledge, you'll be rewarded with jaw dropping views of Mount Greylock State Reservation.
This 12,000 acre Massachusetts reservation allows you to not only explore the mountains, but you can see as far as 90 miles in any direction.
While this hike is most popular in the fall, it's a perfect trek any time of the year. In the winter, you'll want to be careful as the terrain is quite slippery.
