Following along some of the prettiest scenery in Massachusetts, the Shining Sea Bikeway is a great paved trail to explore while taking in the shoreline views. If you find a day this weekend to take in the views, you won’t regret it! Pack up the whole family and get to biking this incredible little bike path.
If you want to get up close and personal with the beautiful ocean shoreline, you need to head to Falmouth, Massachusetts and get on the Shining Sea Bikeway.
This trail will take you all over the Falmouth area before landing you right at the ocean. You’ll pass by beaches, marshes, and more, while you cruise on your bicycle.
The trail is 10.6 miles one way.
It’s flat, paved, and easy to navigate. It’s the perfect bike path for all skill levels.
Make sure to bring your bathing suit to enjoy the great beaches you’ll see!
At the very least, pack a picnic and spend the afternoon lounging on the shore before you return. The views, the sun, and the waves will bring a lovely peace to your day.
Not all the views are right along the coast.
You’ll cruise through the marsh and some forest, too. In the areas where the path narrows, be sure to be aware of those wanting to go faster than you. Stay to your right, and keep your eyes peeled for people passing!
The marsh offers views just as stunning as the shore.
You’ll want to take photos along most of the way. There are benches available along the path, so take a rest and soak in the sights.
The trail ends at the beautiful Wood’s Hole.
There are so many memorable spots all throughout your bike ride. Even if you can’t make the entire trip, there’s much to see all along the way.
You can bike this beautiful path all year long, as long as there’s no snow to contend with.
Put this on your to-do list, because it’s a great way to get out of the house and explore the best Massachusetts has to offer. You’ll want to ride this, again and again, to take in all of these beautiful views.
