Mount Watatic is a popular place to hike. Not only will you get panoramic views of Boston, Mount Wachusett, and Mount Monadnock, but you'll also get to see plenty of birds and other wildlife along the way.
And in the spring and summer, you'll be able to see a variety of wildflowers as you climb to the summit. This nature trail is as scenic as it gets!
To get to the summit and see all the wonderful nature along the way, you'll take the Wapak Trail. This easy, 2.1-mile out-and-back trail has an elevation gain of 613 feet.
Be sure to bring a good pair of hiking boots, water, and snacks with you. The trail can be slippery, so take your time. You'll want to anyway in order to stop and see all the lovely flowers along the way.
Keep your ears and eyes out for the wide variety of bird species that make their home here, along with butterflies and plenty of other wildlife.
And when you get to the top, you'll be treated to jaw-dropping views. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to spend up here.
