Head to the towns of Hadley and South Hadley in Western Massachusetts and you may stumble upon an underrated state park.
Joseph Allen Skinner State Park just so happens to be in the heart of the Connecticut River Valley. A visit here will guarantee epic views.
Established in 1940, this wonderful state park encompasses 843 acres that surround Mount Holyoke. This mountain has an elevation of 935 feet and is at the westernmost part of the Holyoke Range.
There are several hiking trails you can take to the summit of Mount Holyoke. However, there is a paved road to drive to the top as well.
At the mountain's summit, you can't help but notice the historic building that once served as a hotel in the 19th century. The Mount Holyoke Summit House, now a visitor's center, was once known as the Prospect House.
Now that you're at the top of Mount Holyoke at Skinner State Park, it's time to take in the enchanting views of the Connecticut River Valley.
