When springtime comes around in New England, one of the best ways to embrace it fully is to take a scenic drive. The Mount Greylock Scenic Byway is one of the most versatile mountain drives in Massachusetts and will take you to the summit of the highest peak in our state. This beautiful drive is 16.3 miles in total and will take you about 2.5 hours with various interesting stops at the at the summit of Mount Greylock. If you'd rather admire the springtime sights from your car, the trip will only take you 35 minutes! This marvelous scenic drive is one of the most versatile drives in our state, and it truly comes alive in the springtime. Whether you want to take a short drive to the summit of our tallest mountain, or want to stop at the sights along the way, this drive is perfect for any occasion.

This incredible drive starts in Adams and takes you through the mountains.

At 16.3-miles long, with a few different routes, you can choose your own adventure. This scenic drive extends into Williamstown.

Upon this drive, you'll feel like you're in the likes of Pennsylvania and Maine without ever leaving Massachusetts.

The ecological system within Mount Greylock is unlike anywhere else in our area. The elevation makes for an interesting ground for all kinds of different plant life, and this truly comes alive in the spring. You'll feel like you've traveled to the forests of Maine without even traveling over an hour.

Mount Greylock is one of our states most beautiful treasures, and stopping at the summit is a must.

This mountain is home to Massachusetts' tallest peak at 3,491 feet. It's also home to the first wilderness park that we've ever had, and from the top of the peak you can see as far as 100 miles. There's truly nothing in New England quite like Mount Greylock, which makes driving through it a treat unlike any other.

Of course, there are plenty of other stops along the way.

While it can take a couple of hours to take this drive with all of the stops, it's only over 30 minutes if you just want to drive through.
