Hiking is about more than just stretching your legs. Hunting down a killer final destination is high on the priority list of many outdoor explorers. If you’re one of them, the Lookout Point Trail in Massachusetts offers an incredibly scenic treat that you’ll want to return to again and again.

Central Massachusetts has plenty of gorgeous spots to sit and soak up the scenery, but Lookout Point in Northbridge has to be one of the best. This stunning vantage point is reached via a quick hike through lush woodlands and is suitable for all ages and experience levels.
The entire hike should take you no more than 15 minutes one way.
This is a fast hike that isn’t strenuous and offers maximum reward for minimum effort. Hikers should be aware that the trail does include a slight incline on the way to Lookout Point, but this is a generally gentle hike that can be completed by kids and novices.
Once you reach Lookout Point, prepare to be wowed.
Lookout Point offers insanely lovely views of the Blackstone River Valley. You’ll be able to see for miles around and enjoy the sight of the fort stretching out to the horizon. It’s incredibly quiet and peaceful at Lookout Point, so don’t be shy about rolling out a picnic blanket or taking a few photographs.
Getting to the trail is easy and the hike itself is short and sweet.
To reach the trail, drive the scenic country roads to Northbridge. Once you’re in town, head to the parking lot on Quaker Street and pick the Lookout Point Trail. Follow the signs along the trail until you arrive at the viewing spot.
The trail is beautiful in any season, but it truly shines in the fall.
Around mid-October, the foliage on the trees surrounding the trail begin to turn. This is one of the best times to tackle the Lookout Point Trail simply because of that extra dose of natural beauty.
