Massachusetts has plenty of gorge sparks and natural spaces, but not all of them can boast of having a beautiful boardwalk through luscious gardens. Whether you visit at the height of spring or the snowy depths of winter, this little local park is a dream come true.
Armstrong-Kelley Park is located in Osterville. Though it is privately owned and operated by the Cape Cod Horticultural Society, the park is free and open to the public. Leashed pets are also welcome!
The jewel of the park is definitely the stunning boardwalk. It’s made out of more than 1,450 memorial boards that were laid by hand by locals and winds through some of the park’s most charming greenery. This is Cape Cod’s oldest and largest privately owned park, so there’s plenty of plant life to admire.
If you visit during the warmer season, you can expect to find over 250 rhododendron, umbrella and big leaf magnolias, holly trees, and a Franklinia tree, which is virtually unknown in the wild. There’s also a charming water garden and fish pond that kids absolutely adore.
If you feel like stretching your legs beyond the boardwalk, this park offers seven hillside trails to stroll. You can also spend time in the pet memorial garden or simply picnic on the grounds. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the park.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L.
