When spring hits, it’s natural to feel an almost irresistible urge to head outside and enjoy nature. If you love all things blooming, this lush botanical garden in Massachusetts is the place to be — especially since it has a field of more than 25,000 daffodils! Here are all the details.
Tower Hill Botanic Garden is one of the prettiest places in Massachusetts. This spot offers 17 separate gardens on more than 130 acres of beautiful land. Much of it is natural woodland and lush, green lawn, so there are plenty of places to stretch out or enjoy a snack in the sunshine. The garden plays host to countless rare and exotic plants, and spring is the best time to visit.
Flowers, flowers everywhere is what you’ll find at this garden as soon as spring has sprung. In fact, the garden is famous for its field of more than 25,000 daffodils. This incredible space is unique in New England and has to be seen to be believed. It’s like wandering through fairyland.
Besides the daffodils, the gardens are also packed with tens of thousands of tulips, magnolias, lilacs, azaleas, and other fragrant and colorful blooms. They offer special spring-themed tours through the vibrant fields of flowers as well as self-guided tours for those who prefer to explore in peaceful solitude.
If you feel like getting creative, you should attend one of their drop-in watercolor art classes for all ages and ability levels. You can borrow materials and get tips from the pros for painting landscapes. Feeling inspired? The garden also offers poetry journals to borrow and scribble in as you wander the grounds. For a limited time in 2019, the gardens will also be home to an unconventional art exhibit featuring giant stainless steel sculptures that move and shift with the wind.
Visiting Tower Hill Botanic Gardens couldn’t be easier. They’re open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and charge $16 for adult admission, $11 for senior admission, and $6 for kids 18 and under. Children under six years old are free. Stop by as soon as you can to enjoy the spring splendor!
