Beech Forest Trail is a little-known trail in Massachusetts is one such place that’s never overcrowded, and, depending on what time of day you go, you may have it all to yourself!
The trailhead for Beech Forest Trail can be found at 36 Race Point Road. From Route 6, you’ll turn right onto Race Point Road and find the parking lot on the left about a half-mile down the road.
Beech Forest Trail is a picturesque one-mile loop that’s easy enough for most people to hike. It consists of the Beech Forest Trail that’s 0.75 miles in length and a 0.25-mile extension loop.
The trail will take you through a lovely beech forest and eventually past Beech Forest Pond. If you enjoy bird-watching, this is a great trail to spot migratory birds as well as other wildlife.
If you want to experience some solitude, you can do so during the quieter times of the day. You may have the whole trail to yourself! Now, doesn’t that sound like a wonderful escape?
Depending on the time of year, you must remember to take bug and tick spray. And don’t forget to bring a bottle of water. While this hike is rather short, you should still be prepared.

This woodland is a haven for birds, so keep an eye out for a variety of species. You might even spot an old stone wall, a reminder of the area's history. With its varied terrain and abundant wildlife, Fitch Memorial Woodlands provides a rewarding experience for hikers seeking a quiet respite in the woods.
Thinking about hiking the RRR Brooks Trail? It's a solid option if you're on the hunt for a moderate trek with some nice payoffs. This out-and-back trail clocks in at just under five miles, and it takes you through some really pretty forested areas in Taconic Trail State Park in Williamstown.
The trail climbs steadily, but it's not overly steep. You'll get a good workout, and the views from the top are definitely worth it. One AllTrails user even suggested turning it into a loop by connecting to the Sarah Tenney Trail, something to consider if you want to extend your hike. Just be prepared for a few rocky sections and maybe some muddy spots if it's been raining. Overall, the RRR Brooks Trail is an underrated gem with somebeautiful terrain, all without the crowds of more popular trails.
Robinson State Park in Feeding Hills is home to a rich varietyof plants and animals, making it one of the most diverse natural areas in Massachusetts. The Eastside Trail is a great introduction to this unique environment. This 2.5-mile loop trail is an easy hike, suitable for all ages and skill levels.
As you follow the trail, you'll come across a mix of woods and river vistas, with a small waterfall along the way. Be sure to watch for wildlife. You might see deer, fishers, or even a bald eagle! The park is also known for its rare wildflowers, turtles, and dragonflies. The Davis Hill Field Trail and Laurel Hill Loop Trail in Moore State Park combine to create a delightful 1.7-mile loop perfect for a refreshing walk or light hike near Paxton, Massachusetts. Known for its peaceful atmosphere, this easy trail weaves throughtall trees and open fields with gentle hills and just enough elevation to keep things interesting.
