Located on four acres of leafy, beautiful forested land, this amazing aerial adventure park is designed to get people of all ages exploring and having fun - tots and grandparents included!
Five breathtaking aerial trails wind through the treetops, bringing you off the ground and into a totally unique canopy wonderland. This park is actually situated in a part of the forest that has never been open to the public before, so it’s totally untouched and gorgeous.
Does wandering the treetops sound too extreme for you? Think being up in the air would be too scary to even attempt? You seriously don’t need to worry: this place welcomes climbers as young as seven years old! Older climbers are also carefully guided along the aerial trails, and you’re completely harnessed and safe the whole time.
If you slip, you’ll simply be gently lowered to the forest floor. It’s completely safe and unlike any outdoor activity you’ve ever tried before.
Read on to find out why The Adventure Park at Heritage Museum & Gardens is the perfect spring day trip!
To start, you’ll take a lovely walk into the beautiful woods of Heritage Museum & Gardens. After thorough instruction and getting harnessed up, you’ll ascend to the treetops via a starting platform and choose the perfect trail based on your age and comfort level. This is an absolutely amazing way to experience the natural world like never before.
With over 60 tree bridges and seven zip lines, there’s something for everyone. The adventure park teaches visitors about the trees and wildlife of the forest by immersing them in the airy treetops. Flying through the air on the zip lines is an amazing feeling!
So how high off the ground are you? You’ll reach heights between 10 and 40 feet. The more challenging the aerial trail, the higher it is.
If you don’t like heights, there’s fun on the ground too. Try one of the guided pathways that will lead you through clearings of world-renowned Dexter rhododendrons and peaceful, shady forest.
The best part? This awesome activity is wicked affordable. Kids tickets 7-9 years are $34, kids tickets 10-11 are $39 and everyone 12+ is $45. Climbing tickets are good for two hours in the trees. This is more than enough time, as each trail takes about 15-30 minutes to complete. There are also great military and group discount available.
The park is generally open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (opening day is April 13!), so it’s easy to fit this great activity into your schedule. Be sure to check the site’s opening hours before you go just in case.
