Yards Park is a waterfront destination that gives Washingtonians a perfect place to escape outside and relax.
Yards Park is a 5.4 acre park situated right on the Anacostia River and near Nationals Park.
There’s large open grassy space where kids can play, dogs can run and people can picnic.
One of the best features of Yards Park is their water features. There’s a canal basin that is 11 inches deep and children are welcome to play in it.
There’s also fountains that anyone can splash around in when they are on.
Enjoy some time playing or relaxing in the open space then stroll across the pedestrian bridge to one of the many waterfront destinations for food with a view.
Yards Park is frequently a festival and event host. There is a farmer’s market every week and they have regular work out classes throughout the week.
The Park also holds other bigger events occasionally throughout the year like concerts, food festivals and free movies.
If you love the water, then you can walk the boardwalk that runs along the river.
You can also rent a kayak or a canoe from one of the boat rental shops there.
No matter what age you are, you’ll love having fun at Yards Park. Bring a picnic or grab dinner, head for a special event or just spend a lazy Sunday lying out on the grass. No matter the occasion, Yards Park is a perfect place to spend the fall!
