Have you always wanted to be an archaeologist? Fulfill your dream at the following Maryland park. This unique attraction is only a half hour drive from the city and if you have any dinosaur lovers in your life, you're sure to win all of the brownie points.
What appears to be a normal park in Laurel, Maryland...
...is actually a one-of-a-kind site known as Dinosaur Park.
Walk around the park and read the posted factoids about dinosaurs who roamed here during the Cretaceous Period, about 110 million years ago.
While exploring, you'll spot what looks like ordinary piles of dirt. That area is actually an excavation site where dinosaur fossils have been found.
What's even better is that you yourself can skim the top surface of dirt for ancient fossils.
NOTE: No digging is allowed. However, keep your eyes peeled and you just may find an ancient treasure.
If you happen to locate a fossil, your name will be credited as the finder. Your fossil will be either kept at the park for research purposes or even sent to the Smithsonian.
Dinosaur Park is an enriching day trip for both children and adults. If you're interested in a one of a kind adventure, you can find this unique spot at 13100 Mid Atlantic Blvd Laurel, MD 20708.
