Love a good overlook? The following overlook in Maryland is one of the best, with an incredible view, AND it's reminiscent of Pride Rock from The Lion King! Read on to learn more, and plan a trip here sometime -- you'll be glad you did!
Today's adventure takes us to Rocks State Park in Harford County.
This beautiful state park covers 855-acres. It's home to a waterfall, picnic and pavilion areas, and one of the most gorgeous overlooks in the state.
The overlook is known as the King and Queen Seat. It sits 190 above Deer Creek, making for an impressive view. Some also call this spot Maryland's very own Pride Rock, though we don't recommend holding baby lions over the edge.
The hike to the overlook can be reached by the Red, White, or even the Purple trail. Most choose the 3.2-mile loop, which takes about 1.5 hours to complete.
Along the way you'll come across many boulders, branches, and more. The trek is bumpy, and considered moderate in difficulty.
When you finally reach the overlook area, use caution, especially if you have children with you.
You can sit on many of the rocks. If you're not bold enough to walk to the edge, simply admire the view from a little further back.
Or, make your way to the tip of King and Queen Seat...
...and enjoy one of the best scenic sights in Maryland. Bring your camera!
