Calling all maple syrup lovers! Did you know that there's an annual Maple Syrup Festival in Maryland? In fact, 2020 marks the 50th year for this sweet event. The annual Maple Sugar Festival is located at Cunningham Falls State Park in Frederick County.
This scenic park is known as the home of the impressive Cunningham Falls. You can also head here for hiking and camping, as well as swimming in the lake during summertime.
Head here during the weekends of March 14-15 and 21-22 for all things maple syrup.
Check out the sugaring demonstrations, which will take place on the hour from 10am-2pm. You'll learn the sap-to-syrup process and history.
It's pretty fascinating how syrup goes from this...
...to this...
...to this.
There will also be maple syrup on sale, children's activities...
...and a delicious pancake breakfast!
Don't miss out on a hike to the falls while you're here. Be sure to bring a camera to capture the sights.
Keep in mind that this is a cash only event. A donation of $3 is requested in lieu of the park entrance fee. Find more information at the website linked below, and have a great (and delectable) time.
