If you are looking for great views in Maryland, look no further! The King and Queens Chair Loop is a 3.2-mile hike that journeys to some incredible overlooks where you can watch the sunrise, sunset, or simply gaze out into the incredible Maryland forest. Located in Rocks State Park near the Pennsylvania border, the King and Queens Chair Loop will be a hike you will remember for years to come.
To get to King and Queens Seat, you will start on the White Trail. If you want to save the "seat" for the end of your hike, go to your left at the first trail split and hike the loop clockwise.
If you're in a hurry to get to the King and Queen Seat for sunrise, you can stay right at the fork, hiking counterclockwise, and you will reach the branch-off for the King and Queen Seat in less than half a mile. Just be sure to finish this amazing loop afterwards!
Dogs are welcome on this trail, although they must be kept on their leash. Be sure to bring them along so they can experience this fun and exciting forest hike with you.
This hike is located in Rocks State Park, which is comprised of over 800 acres of forest with large rocks scattered throughout the land. Be sure to pay attention to the unique landscape during your hike.
There is some elevation gain and plenty of rocks that may be slippery on this hike. We recommend hiking shoes to ensure you are comfortable.
