The weather outside is frightful and although we enjoy all of Maryland's seasons, a part of us is dreaming of summer. Check out this hidden gem in the Old Line State that's beautiful year-round. You don't have to wait until warmer weather arrives this visit this wondrous spot, but it may make your stay a bit more comfortable.
Head to south to find Flags Pond Nature Park, which is located in Lusby, Maryland.
This scenic spot is full of diverse terrain, from a sandy beach, to wetland spots, and woodland views.
Take to the trails, which lead to several unique ponds...
Winding boardwalk paths...
And towering trees.
When you arrive at the beach, you'll be greeted with sweeping views of the bay and an abundant amount of fossils, so keep your eyes peeled.
Shark's teeth are especially fun to find so take your time combing the beach.
The shallow water here is perfect for little ones to splash around...
Or to simply dip your feet in while the calm water cools you down.
Make it a full-on beach day by packing an umbrella, sandwiches, and slathering on the sunscreen. Relax in the sand or swim in the bay.
No matter how you choose to spend your day at Flags Pond Nature Park, it's sure to be a memorable time. Check out this spot at least once, although you'll likely want to return again and again.
