Are you a fan of fairy tales? Then visit the following attraction in Maryland where fairy tales come to life. Bring the family on an enchanting day trip to remember, with animals, hay rides, and a woodland maze full of abandoned amusement park relics. There's no other place quite like it in Maryland.
Clark's Elioak Farm is located in Ellicott City, right off of Route 108.
It's home to magical structures from the former Enchanted Forest amusement park. The amusement park ran from the 1950s until the 1990s, and then remained abandoned for several years until Clark's Elioak Farm took in several pieces. Here's a nostalgic view of the entrance in 1955...
...and here's the same castle entrance today. Clark's Elioak Farm has dozens of vintage treasures from the former Enchanted Forest and they're worth seeing in person.
You'll find the restored fairy tale structures scattered throughout the grounds...
...but our favorite place to seek them out is in the woodland maze.
Make your way through the zig-zagging tree course and keep your eyes peeled.
Relics from your favorite childhood storybooks are hidden throughout the maze and they're oh-so charming.
You'll find larger structures that you can climb into and on top of...
...and teenier ones, like the dish that ran away with the spoon.
You'll find the classic tortoise and the hare...
...and so many more fairy tale creatures. Be sure to bring your camera to capture plenty of fun family photos with these whimsical structures.
After a jaunt in the maze, be sure to check out the many other things that Clark's Elioak Farm has to offer, including a petting zoo full of cuddly creatures...
...and hay rides, train rides, play areas, and more.
Prepare for otherworldly sights galore and make a day of it. This just may be the most magical farm (and maze) ever.
Address: 10500 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042
