Calling all explorers! We love featuring hiking spots around Maryland and the following place is among the most impressive. In fact, this trail is often included on state bucket lists because there's no other location quite like it. If you're up for a unique adventure, check out Billy Goat Trail this year!
Billy Goat Trail is nestled along the Potomac River.
Because of its proximity to the river, scenic water views are abundant at every turn.
The most popular trail to hike is Section A and it belongs on every Marylander's must-do list.
Section A is among the most beautiful...
...but that beauty comes with some hard work.
Although this trek is only 1.7 miles in length, it's extremely rocky and slippery in some spots. It takes the average person about two hours to complete Section A.
Be sure to wear hiking shoes with good tread and bring plenty of water and snacks.
Sections B and C also have plenty of rustic sights to offer and may be a bit easier for younger and older hikers.
Among these two sections you'll still find diverse paths, including bridges and log crossings.
Whether you come to do section A, B, C, or all three!, Billy Goat Trail never disappoints. Visit this spot once and you'll likely want to return again and again.
Check out this great video for a bit more information on section A, including safety tips and more.
