If you're looking for a unique dining experience that doesn't mean heading to a big city, this might be the spot for you! This farm restaurant in Maine is also a market, but part of the charm is the surroundings! Read on for why we love this place and think you will too!
Deer Foot Farm is located in Appleton, Maine about 15 miles inland from Camden and the Penobscot Bay.
Located on a picturesque rural farm, part of what makes this restaurant so special are the fresh ingredients which are locally sourced from right outside!
As with most things with Maine, the views from simply driving to the restaurant and being out in the fresh air is worth the trip.
But, let's be TRULY honest: the food is why we go back!
Breakfast is served on Saturdays & Sundays from 7:30am to 10:30am.
While the menu has something for everyone, you should start with the red flannel hash, which is not only a customer favorite but was also voted one of the best breakfasts in Maine by Downeast Magazine!
Everything is completely homemade by the friendly staff, who are said to be one of the best parts of the experience.
Lunch is served Wednesday to Monday from 11am to 5pm.
Still hungry? Dinner is served Thursdays from 5:30pm to 8pm.
The dining room is cozy and lively, acting as a community hub for locals to meet-up, chat and eat the best food in town.
The tea and coffee service will make you feel right at home!
And after you've eaten, be sure to look at the fun array of flowers and gifts to bring home.
And, of course, the market which is full of baked goods and sweets that will keep you full on the beautiful drive back.
Deer Foot Farm also hosts weddings and provides a flower CSA.
