New year, new you, right? There’s something so mesmerizing about watching a sunset in Louisiana, and we sure do have some pretty spots to park it at the end of the day. Not only will these incredible sunsets make you fall in love with the Pelican State all over again, but they might just inspire you for the new year. Come with me to witness these 9 Louisiana sunsets and marvel at all their glory.
1. Lake Martin
One of the prettiest places to watch a sunset in Louisiana is Lake Martin. This little Breaux Bridge beauty is easily seen from your car, but the nature trail offers some lovely views, too.
2. Lake Pontchartrain
If you live on the Northshore, consider spending an evening watching the sunset over Lake Pontchartrain. Both the Mandeville Lakefront and Fontainebleau State Park offer phenomenal views.
3. Grand Isle
Head on down to the tip of the boot to see a sunrise over the Gulf at Grand Isle. Grand Isle State Park has an incredible 100-foot pier, pictured above, that will give you a great view of the sunset.
4. Cypremort Point State Park
There's something so relaxing about watching a sunset over the water, and Cypremort Point State Park has some of the best views ever. Several picnic benches pepper the shoreline, offering a front row seat of the sunset over Vermilion Bay.
5. Prien Lake
Prien Lake Park is a beautiful little 29-acre park that's perfect for watching the sunset over Prien Lake. If you're in the Lake Charles area, this one is an absolute must.
6. Holly Beach
Known as the "Cajun Riveria," Holly Beach is a great little secluded spot to take a leisurely stroll through the sand while catching a sunset over the Gulf.
7. Lake Claiborne
If you're in the northern part of the state, Lake Claiborne never disappoints when it comes to sunsets. Lake Claiborne State Park is your best bet when watching a sunset like this, and it's certainly one you'll remember.
8. Lake Charles
Another Lake Charles favorite, viewing the sunset over the lake from Millennium Park will inspire you to reach all your goals this year.

Finally, Toledo Bend. This massive reservoir can be viewed from either North or South Toledo Bend State Park. Whichever you choose, you're in for an insane color splash.
