Sugar Roots Farm in New Orleans is more than just a pumpkin patch, it's a working farm right in the city that's ideal for families with little ones. The best part is that since it's located in New Orleans, you don't have to spend too much time in the car. Let's check it out.
You’ll find Sugar Roots farm on the outskirts of New Orleans, a mere 13 miles from the French Quarter.
Just hop over the Crescent City Connection and you’re nearly there. Their address is 10701 Willow Drive, New Orleans, Louisiana 70131.
Established in 2014, Sugar Roots Farm seeks to educate children about different ways to grow food.
Through hands-on activities, children learn about the importance of healthy food sources, reducing waste, reusing whenever possible, and recycling.
On Saturdays from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m., you can visit the farm and see it for yourself.
Admission is $6 per person and kids 2 and under are free.
The whole family will have a blast getting up close with all the animals.
Bunnies, goats, chickens, and cows are just a few of the animals you can snuggle up to.
You can also purchase a cup of feed.
Feed is only $1 and these little guys are always hungry. They also offer food to take home, like farm fresh eggs, local honey, and seasonal vegetables.
For the month of October, you can pick your very own pumpkin to take home.

The pumpkin patch will be open every Saturday and the last two Sundays in October from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will also be horse rides, baked goods, and face painting. Snatch up your perfect pumpkin before heading home to carve it into a spooky jack-o-lantern!
