Bayou Segnette State Park is truly a hidden gem in the New Orleans area and is less than 40 minutes away for most New Orleanians.

You can find this park at 7777 Westbank Expressway in Westwego, LA.

It's open from 6am - 9pm on weekdays and until 10pm on weekends.

There is truly something for the whole family here.

The nature trail here is a nice relaxing 1 mile loop around the park.

There are also ample campgrounds at the park.

Boating and fishing are very popular activities here.

There are both freshwater and saltwater fishing opportunities and if you bring your boat out here you'll have the chance to explore other areas in the park only accessible by boat.

The floating cabins here are totally beautiful and allow you to get up close and personal with the water.

When spring arrives in Louisiana, you'll want to take advantage of the beautiful weather and get outside and explore this beautiful state of ours! There are 21 state parks peppered around Louisiana, and several are located within an hour or two of New Orleans, like Tickfaw State Park. This beautiful park has some of the most beautiful waterside trails around, and you’ll quickly fall in love with this natural oasis. Located in Livingston Parish, Tickfaw State Park is less than 2 hours away from New Orleans and worth every mile.

The 1,200-acre state park has ample green space to sprawl out on, playgrounds for the kids, several fishing opportunities, and a Nature Center to keep you entertained all day long.
