Located on the outskirts of Breaux Bridge in Cajun Country, Lake Martin is a beautiful preserve that’s teeming with wildlife.
Not only is it ideal for birdwatchers, but you’ll also encounter all of your favorite swamp critters here.
Turtles, snakes, egrets, nutria, and gators galore make Lake Martin a wildlife enthusiast’s paradise.
Don't forget to look up! You never know what you'll find among the cypress trees.
On a calm day, the views are absolutely breathtaking.
There’s a levee trail that winds around the lake that's ideal for those casual afternoon strolls.
You can also hop aboard one of the many swamp tour boats peppered along the lake for you’ll get a chance to take to the waters and see the lake from an entirely new perspective.
If you have the opportunity, stick around until sunset. The skies bounce off of the water in a dazzling display of light that’s truly mesmerizing.
