When you think of spending your days on a beautiful beach, your mind probably goes east to those beautiful beaches of Destin, Pensacola, or Orange Beach. But Louisiana does have some beautiful beaches, you just need to know where to look. Located just about a four-hour drive from New Orleans, Holly Beach is a perfect spot to spend a day or two lounging in the sand, and the best part of it all is that you can drive (and camp) right along the beach.
Holly Beach is a secluded little strip of beautiful beach down in Cameron Parish that few people know about.
It may be roughly 4 hours from New Orleans, but it's worth the drive.
Making it one of the most beautiful beaches in Louisiana.
And you're right along the Gulf of Mexico.
One of the best parts about Holly Beach is that you can drive right on it!
Yep, gone are the days of parking your car far away and lugging all your beach equipment to the sand.
Here, you can just drive right up on the beach and park wherever you’d like to set up for the day.
You can even camp right on the beach, so why not make a weekend out of it?
As you walk along the shores, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife.
Catching crabs and feeding the gulls is always a memorable part of spending time on the beach.
Spend your days walking the shores collecting seashells…
Fun fact: Holly Beach is a great spot to find seashells, so be sure to bring a few containers so you can take some home with you!
And your evening watching a beautiful sunset over the Gulf of Mexico.
Sounds like a picture-perfect way to spend a day or two, right?
