1. Louisiana Castle

This whimsical castle is the perfect venue for your next event. Beautifully manicured lawns, stunning interior decorating, and large enough for your biggest reunion or wedding. The castle is located at 47168 LA-10, Franklinton, LA 70438

2. Briarwood

Caroline Dormon was a world renowned botanist, author, and the first woman employed in forestry in the United States. She was instrumental in preserving the Kisatchie National Forest among many other state parks. Briarwood was her home, and she gifted it to the public after her death in 1971. They are open to the public in March, April, May, October, and November and it’s worth your while to pay them a visit to walk these beautiful grounds. Briarwood is located at 216 Caroline Dorman Rd, Saline, Louisiana 71070.

3. Liberty Lagoon

This Baton Rouge water park is great fun for the whole family. Several water slides, a lazy river, and even a surfing simulator will keep you occupied for hours. Liberty Lagoon is located at 111 Lobdell Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.

4. Cajun Palms

Cajun Palms is a luxury campground resort that should be on everyone’s bucket list. The resort has a volleyball court, miniature golf course, three pools, an amazing kiddie pool, and a swim up bar just to name a few of the attractions. 5. Holly Beach

Known as the "Cajun Rivera," Holly Beach is on the upswing after being destroyed by Hurricane Rita. There are several cabins right on the beach, and the beach is perfect for crabbing, fishing, and sea shelling. If you don’t want to stay in a cabin, feel free to pitch your tent right on the beach!

6. Fairview Riverside State Park

This tiny but mighty state park is less than a hundred acres, but still packs a punch when it comes to beauty. Located right on the Tchefuncte River, this park offers beautiful views and the opportunity to tour the Otis House. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Otis House was built in the 1880s and is truly stunning inside and out. Fairview Riverside State Park is located at 119 Fairview Dr, Madisonville, LA 70447.

7. The Rock Chapel

Built in 1891 by Carmelite monks, this little chapel has stood the test of time. To visit, you’ll need to call the DeSoto tourist bureau who will give you a key to the locked gate. You can find the chapel at 1746 Smithport Rd, Mansfield, LA.
