Summer was meant for spending your days on the beach. While you could certainly trek it to the usual Gulf Coast spots in Alabama or Florida, but there's a beautiful beach right in our own backyard and you're going to love it. Gas up the car, because today we're heading down to Grand Isle to sit back, relax, and sink those toes in the sand.
Grand Isle is known for having some of the most incredible, world-class fishing, but there’s another natural attraction that’s worthy of a road trip from any corner of the state.
Louisiana’s only inhabited barrier island features seven miles of beautiful public beaches to enjoy, making it a great spot for an afternoon adventure the whole family will love.
You'll have plenty of space to sprawl out, and in fact, you might end up having the beach all to yourself. It’s the perfect beach for anyone who enjoys those peaceful beach walks along the surf. Keep your eyes on the shoreline for any seashells for you to take home as a souvenir.
Kids will have a blast splashing in the water, building sand castles, and running along the beach.
Don’t forget to bring your fishing gear and set some crab traps. Nothing like a dinner full of freshly caught crabs!
The 100-foot pier at Grand Isle State Park is perfect for dropping a line or just admiring the endless views.
You can even camp right on the beach! Imagine falling asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore while gazing up at the starry night.
In the evenings, lay out a blanket and watch as the sky transforms into a brilliant color splash over the water.
After a full day of fun in the sun, a tranquil sunset is just the perfect way to end the day.
