Located in Belle Chasse, the Woodlands Conservancy is a perfect destination when you’re looking to spend some time outdoors.
This 630-acre conservancy features more than 10-miles of trails to explore, and also a parallel equestrian trail so you can bring your gentle giant out for some epic outdoor riding.
While strolling through the bottomland hardwood forest, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. The area is home to countless wildlife and migratory birds, making this a bird watcher’s paradise.
The trail system winds along a spill-bank that provides some truly relaxing views of the wetlands. Gators and turtles are popular sightings in this area.
At the end of the Bottomland Trail you’ll encounter a piece of history that will make you think you’ve been transported through time.
Nestled underneath the canopies of trees in the wetland forest, you’ll discover a grouping of WWII Ammunition Magazines.
