There’s nothing like lacing up those sneakers and setting out on an adventure. While there are plenty of trails in Louisiana that will take you through some picturesque swamps and bayous, there are plenty of underrated trails in central Louisiana that will take you through some of the most challenging terrains The Pelican State has to offer, and this trail in particular offer some of the most unique views in the state. Afterward, you'll have total bragging rights to tell all your friends that you climbed to the top of Louisiana's highest natural summit!
Located in Bienville, the Driskill Mountain trail is an out-and-back trail that’s just shy of two miles and is great for all skill levels.
Clocking in at 535 feet, Driskill Mountain is the highest natural summit in Louisiana.
The primitive trail is well marked and pretty secluded, so you might just have the entire trail to yourself!
You’ll be surrounded by towering pines and the sweet symphony of sounds from the songbirds up above.
As you ascend towards the top of the mountain, you’ll begin to catch glimpses of Jordan Mountain nearby.
When the trees part, you’ll have beautiful treetop views that’ll make you question if you’re still in Louisiana.
At the top of the trail, there are a few benches. Sit for a spell and take in the views!
It’s not often that you’ll get to see these mountain views, so soak it in.
