Peppered with countless native trees, scenic overlooks, and wildlife galore, the 60-acre area nestled within City Park is a nature lover’s paradise.
The Couturie Forest Trail is a one mile loop trail that’s perfect for a family outing or a solo adventure. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by towering pines, ancient oaks, and countless varieties of plants.
The forest is made up of eight distinct ecosystems, and you’ll have a front-row seat to view them all.
Be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife along the way. You never know what might be in your path!

There are some great spots to sit for a spell and admire the view. The forest is known for being the best spot in the city for birdwatching, so keep your eyes peeled! It’s not uncommon to see upwards of 40 species during your visit.
The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, and the Couturie Forest is free to enter.
