Here are some of our favorite scenic parks in Louisiana that are just what you need for a peaceful retreat from it all.
1. Kiroli Park
With over 150 acres to explore, Kiroli Park is easily one of the most popular parks in the Monroe area. Beautiful nature paths, fishing ponds, and multiple playgrounds all add up for a fun day of adventure the whole family can enjoy.
2. Bogue Falaya Park
Nestled in the heart of downtown Covington, Bogue Falaya Park has ample green space to sprawl out on, not to mention some pretty spectacular views of the Bogue Falaya River.
3. Oak Grove Community Park
This little park is perfect for those days when the kids need to release some energy. They’ll love all the fun stuff to do on the playgrounds and running around the park.
4. Greenwood Community Park
Located in East Baton Rouge Parish in Baker, Louisiana, this beautiful park is just shy of 400 acres, and features a waterfront cafe, kayak/canoe rentals, both a 9 and an 18-hole golf course, an 18-acre lake that’s great for spending an afternoon fishing.
5. Port Barre Park
Port Barre is a tiny little town in St. Landry Parish, and it’s home to this delightfully charming little pocket park that’s ideal for a little "me-time."
6. Sandy Creek Community Park
Perfect for the those looking for a walk through nature, Sandy Creek Community Park features 380+ acres of scenery to enjoy, and it’s open to mountain bikers, hikers, and even horses so you can bring your gentle giant out for a day of adventure.
7. Jim Bowie Park
If you’re in the Houma area, then you have to check out this scenic little park. Nestled along Bayou Black, the views are simply mesmerizing and the serenity is palpable.
8. New Iberia City Park
Bring your four-legged friend to this lovely little park, which features a number of walking trails and a dog park so even your furry friend can enjoy the day.
