Coconut Beach has been a fixture in New Orleans since 1988, when it was located in the West End neighborhood of Lakeview.
The location was destroyed during Katrina, and initially rebuilt on a much smaller scale. Ultimately though the Army Corps took control of the location to use for their flood prevention, and Coconut Beach needed a new location.
After an exhaustive search, they finally found a new home in Kenner, where there is now over 100,000 square-feet of man-made beach.
The current location is found at 100 Coconut Beach Ct., in Kenner and has over 22 volleyball courts.
Today it is the largest sand volleyball complex in the United States and thousands of players flock here to play.
There are a variety of ways to get started, from renting the facility for parties and learning about the sport to joining leagues and committing to a team.
There is also a full bar and grill open at the complex, making it an awesome place just to relax and hang out while people play.
You can choose from a full menu of options, including these amazingly tasty tater tachos.
Coconut Beach has quickly become an awesome New Orleans hang out where you will feel right at home.
