Evenings in December were meant for viewing Christmas lights. From City Park to the CBD, the Crescent City sure does sparkle during the holiday season. There's one magical holiday display that's just a short drive from the city, and the whole family will love it. Let's take a closer look.
If there’s one town near New Orleans that knows how to celebrate the season, it’s Slidell.
Back for its 32nd season, Christmas Under the Stars takes place at Griffith Park in Olde Towne Slidell.
From December 4, 2020 until January 3, 2021 this picturesque little park transforms into a winter wonderland the whole family can enjoy. And the best part is that it's free to enter, so bring the whole gang.
There will be festive decorations, endless twinkling lights, and even a frozen ice castle.
The life-sized Christmas cottages are always a hit with the kids.
The attention to detail in these displays is truly magical! Local artist Lori Gomez truly brings the Christmas spirit to life with these incredible displays.
And of course, you’ll want to snag a photo with the big Santa.
Santa will be staying at home this year, quarantining with Mrs. Claus, but this larger-than-life Santa is almost as good as the real thing!
Admission to the display is free, and the lights will be on from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. every evening until January 3, 2021.
For more information, check out their website and be sure to give the City of Slidell a follow on Facebook so you can stay up to date on the latest events.
