If you grew up around New Orleans, there’s a chance that you have visited this place before, but I am still surprised when I realize some people have never even heard of the Global Wildlife Center, found north of Baton Rouge. You will want to get a group of friends together and visit ASAP--especially if you have young kids!
The Global Wildlife Center is found at 26389 Louisiana 40, Folsom, LA.
It's centrally located nearby Hammond, Covington, Baton Rouge and New Orleans, making it easily accessible to all.
When you pay a visit, you are given an opportunity to take a tour.
Safari tours are given almost daily, although you should check the website to confirm times. You can also arrange for private tours where just you and your closest loved ones will get a unique tour with the animals.
A huge variety of animals is one of the reasons this wildlife center is so special.
Giraffes, zebras, red kangaroos, american bison, peacocks, llamas, camels, and many more. In fact, the Global Wildlife Center is the largest preserve free-roaming preserve in the entire country.
Did you realize we had such a treasure just north of Lake Pontchartrain?
When you pay visit and take a tour, the best part of the sanctuary is the ability to feed the animals. You might even get a kiss from one of the animals!
It's truly a sight to behold to see all of the animals gather around the safari train seeking feed.
If you just close your eyes a little bit, it's easy to imagine yourself in some kind of exotic locale.
So if you are seeking a big adventure or want to thrill the little angels in your life, consider a visit to the Global Wildlife Center.
We think you are going to have the afternoon of your life!
