2021 sure is off to an interesting start, and it's only the middle of February. This winter, in particular, has been colder than years past. So cold, in fact, that we've actually had our fair share of snow this season. It doesn't snow in Louisiana very often, so when it does, the cameras come flying out to capture the magic. This recent winter storm brought snow to several areas of the Bayou State. From a slight dusting to multiple inches, these are some of the most magical photos of Louisiana covered in snow.
No matter how old you are, there's something about seeing Louisiana covered in snow that puts a smile on your face.
The bayous take on a completely different look covered in ice. It's not often you get to see cypress knees surrounded in snow.
This Baton Rouge home woke up to quite the icy display.
And this one in Brusly looks pretty frigid.
Central Louisiana saw a fair amount of the white stuff. This iced-over bayou looks like such an enchanted winter wonderland covered in snow!
It almost looks like sand.
Our feathered friends were sure confused...
...but it didn't stop them from snack time.
Some parts of the state saw upwards of six inches! Just take a peek at Black Bayou Lake in Caddo Parish, pictured below. It looks dreamy, doesn't it?
Here's another beautiy from Lake D'Arbonne State Park.
What a view! Seems like a good time to lace up those boots and go on a hiking adventure, right?
