Across from the popular Big Bone Lick State Park is Big Bone Gardens, a secret garden in Kentucky that you just have to visit.
Big Bone Gardens is a 6-acre private garden, lovingly cared for and shared with visitors. It's the perfect place to escape with its natural beauty and diverse sections.
As you're guided around the property, you'll visit several water gardens, including a blooming lotus pond. There are many unique views and plenty of opportunities to explore and relax.
Throughout the gardens, you'll also find many perennials, herbs and even a gnome garden. There are also other themed spaces to take in as you wander.
The acreage also includes several historic structures, which add to the charm. If you're interested in antiques, check out the collection of old garden tools.
In spring and early summer, you'll experience endless blooms and color. When visiting, you may see owner Mary Ellen in her gardening hat, tending to her beautiful collection.
